Snooker, a sport known for its finesse and strategic depth, started in Britain and it's a big part of British culture. It began as a game for British Army officers in the 19thC. They played it in India and brought it back to the UK. Today, it has transcended its British origins to become a global phenomenon played in over 90 countries. Two of the finest full sized snooker tables exist, right here, at our club.
The snooker room has fine views over the golf course. The snooker tables are available for full golf members to enjoy during Club opening hours and there is a specific snooker membership available to non-golfers.
As well as groups of players meeting up on a regular basis to enjoy friendly matches, there are also less traditional, speedier, versions of the game played, and competitions designed for those newer to the game. It’s a great way to enjoy a fun, relaxed social sporting activity, meet fellow members, and experience the warm, welcoming community of REFGC.
Recently the Club held both Singles and Doubles Open competitions which were very well supported. The winners of each were delighted to be presented with engraved trophies and Champagne.
