Playing the Course.
The course is arranged in two loops of nine and rises about 100'. Each loop starts on Chingford Plain, slowly climbing up into the forest before descending and ending on Chingford Plain.
Due to a local Epping Forest bye-law, non-natural features are restricted, thus retaining the forest's original appearance.
Sidehill, uphill and downhill lies will test your skills as will the greens that in summer are hard and fast and which, after more than a century, have settled into many subtle variations.
