Playing the Course.
The course is arranged in two loops of nine and rises about 100'. Each loop starts on Chingford Plain, slowly climbing up into the forest before descending and ending on Chingford Plain.
Due to a local Epping Forest bye-law restricting non-natural features from view and thus retain the forest's natural appearance, there are only a handful of bunkers, positioned in the midst of the forest.
Sidehill, uphill and downhill lies will test your skills as will the small greens that in summer are hard and fast and which, after more than a century, have settled into many subtle variations.
